Capillary Dampness: What is it and how to fix it?

Have you noticed the paint at the bottom of your walls blistering, falling off, or a white powder (saltpeter) appearing? You are facing a capillary problem, one of the most difficult pathologies in construction.

How does capillarity work?

Imagine your walls are like a sponge. If the foundations were not waterproofed correctly during construction, water from the ground rises through the pores of the materials (brick, cement) defying gravity. This phenomenon can rise up to 1.5 meters high.

Technical solutions from ImpermeabilizaYA

  1. Chemical Barriers (Injections): We drill the base of the wall and inject water-repellent resins that create an impassable barrier for water.
  2. Macroporous Mortars: We replace the affected plaster with special mortars that allow the wall to "breathe" without the moisture damaging the finish.

Don't just repaint!

Painting over it will only hide the problem for a few weeks. If you don't cut off the water rise from the root, the damage will reappear stronger.
